How do we get healthy?

There are 3 aspects to good health.
- Body - Your physical fitness, and general musculoskeletal health
- Mind - Your mental health, motivation, your thinking and your spirit/soul
- Nutrition - What you eat and when you eat
The problem is, over 60% of the population are not looking after themselves in one, two or all three of these elements of health.
It is far too easy for people to just go with the flow, not acting, and somehow hoping something will change in their health. The fact is, it will not. Not without changing mindset and making positive steps with appropriate guidance to good health.
You are what you eat! It’s as simple as that. Without good food intake, the whole system is negatively affected. On the other hand, if we regularly eat good whole, unprocessed foods and utilise appropriate eating plans, we provide our body and mind with the best opportunity for optimal health.
It is also vital for our physical health to keep our body fit and active. There is much discussion on how to best accomplish this. In my opinion, it is vital to gradually overcome injury, and gradually build activity so as to avoid any set-backs. Cardiovascular health is so important for efficient blood flow to all areas of our body and is essential for longevity of life.
A healthy mind is also a vital component of good health. Good nutrition and physical health provide a stable foundation for good mental health. Mindset tools, friends, family, counsellors etc can be extremely effective in helping achieve optimal mental health.
All of the above takes effort to achieve but are achievable. As a popular shampoo advert says “it won’t happen overnight, but it will happen”. And it will with patience, persistence and appropriate guidance.
